Does Culture Matter?

The ABO will host another Fringe event at this year's Conservative Party Conference in Birmingham. Following on from successful events at previous party conferences this panel session is entitled Does Culture Matter?

Just what is the economic and social impact of culture on cities and regions such as Birmingham and the West Midlands? What is the return that cultural organisations generate on their public and private investment? Chaired by Chris Giles, Economics Editor of the Financial Times, panelists include The Rt Hon Sajid Javid MP , Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport (invited), Mark Rogers, Chief Executive of Birmingham City Council, Stephen Maddock, Chief Executive of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, and Catherine Mallyon, Executive Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company.
