Janet grew up on the north west coast of England and became enthralled with orchestras following early exposure to her local orchestra, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, and has been captivated ever since. She studied viola at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama where highlights include being part of the chorus in Bernstein’s Mass as part of the London Symphony Orchestra’s Bernstein Festival and playing in the pit band for the UK premiere of George Gershwin’s Girl Crazy (originally premiered in 1930!).
Following post-graduate study in Arts Policy & Management at City University and early roles at the Monteverdi Choir & Orchestra and the London Philharmonic, Janet moved into artist management and has worked with leading London agencies Van Walsum Management, HarrisonParrott and Intermusica working for conductors and instrumentalists.
She is very happy to return to the orchestral world at the ABO.
