Our first-class roster includes some of the most famous and respected artists performing today including Yuja Wang, Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Marin Alsop, Lahav Shani, Lise Davidsen and Danielle de Niese.

Founded in 1981 by current Chief Executive Stephen Lumsden, Intermusica has a highly experienced workforce of over 25 staff based in London and Berlin.

Intermusica is seeking an exceptional leader to re-shape the agency’s marketing and communications offer post-pandemic. This is a unique opportunity to respond to the revised needs of artists, promoters and audiences in 2021 and beyond, as the landscape of classical music continues to shift in response to the COVID-19 crisis. Focussing on the digital landscape will be a key aspect of the role. The successful candidate will work alongside the Chief Executive, Board of Directors and Artist Managers to contribute to our strategy promoting both the agency and its artists, re-affirming Intermusica’s positioning as an industry leader.


These will include:

• Overseeing editorial and technical elements of our award-winning website; developing for the future
• Supporting the strategies for our artists with the most effective digital content.
• Finding ways to maximise new digital opportunities through exploring new strategic partnerships
• Refreshing sales materials (e.g. print, digital brochure app, e-flyers) so they are fit for purpose post-pandemic
• Coordinating and enhancing our social media presence
• Running individual artist marketing projects and campaigns; researching and implementing new services
• Cultivating and growing our list of specialist suppliers (filmmakers, designers etc.)
• Undertaking market research
• Ongoing data analysis feeding back into strategy
Communications (External & Internal)
• Working with Chief Executive and Board of Directors on Intermusica’s positioning strategy through overseeing and developing the Intermusica brand, stakeholder engagement, press & media monitoring, reputation management, advertising and sponsorship opportunities etc.
• Taking a lead in company culture and staff engagement/professional development; including keeping all staff informed about company developments and championing a transparent, inclusive culture
Strategy & management
• Managing departmental budget
• Quarterly reporting to Board of Directors
• Overseeing external suppliers/freelancers
• Line Management of assistant


This is a senior role covering a broad range of marketing and communications areas. The successful candidate will have an appetite for a challenge, ideas in abundance and an excellent work ethic. In addition they will:
• Have at least 5 years’ experience working in marketing and/or communications
• Have a comprehensive understanding of the cultural sector and the classical music industry
• Show strong commercial awareness with a focus on results
• Display strong leadership qualities
• Be comfortable with presenting at Board level and to VIP clients and artists
• Be highly organised
• Display creative flair
• Have an exceptional eye for detail and the highest of standards for published materials
• Have strong skills and contacts in the digital arena and be passionate about the future of music consumption
• Be skilled at line-managing, mentoring and developing others
