Association of British Orchestras

Finance & Administration Officer

National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain £21,000 - £24,000 dependent on skills and experience Closing date 07 June 2021
The National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain has an opportunity for a highly numerate and organised individual to join our Finance & Administration team.

The Finance & Administration Officer ensures the effective day-to-day processing of income and expenditure and plays a crucial role in the smooth running of the NYO office. Building strong working relationships across the organisation, the Finance & Administration Officer supports the implementation of efficient business processes, especially in relation to Development income, which contributes over 70% of the charity’s turnover.

The role would particularly suit someone interested in pursuing a career in charity finance but also offers scope to develop knowledge and skills across a range of operational areas in a busy non-profit organisation.

Over the last decade, NYO has evolved from a 70-year-old training orchestra into a vibrant community of young people making orchestral music relevant to youth audiences. Our young people have stepped off the orchestra platform and given their time, shared their passion and their skills with other young people. This process has empowered and fulfilled them and catalysed a golden era of music making.

NYO's new 'Open Up' strategy has a strong focus on youth voice, creativity and inclusion. Our goal is to reach every teenager in the UK, and raise a considerable, and sustainable, income to enable this to happen.
