Scheduling Coordinator, Speech & Classical Music Radio

BBC Radio 4 is the UK's leading network for intelligent speech, offering a uniquely rich schedule that ranges from news, current affairs and debate through to new comedy and classic drama. Radio 4 Extra is BBC Radio's digital archive entertainment network broadcasting classic comedy, drama and features.

BBC Radio 3 offers a unique mix of high quality music and cultural programming, with classical music at its heart. Scheduling these networks, as well as being very systems based, requires excellent organisation and communication skills. The production chain can be complex with critical deadlines every step of the way. The Scheduling Co-ordinator is a role which sits within the Speech & Classical Music Presentation team and plays a key part in the network scheduling process to ensure that the needs of the Radio 3, Radio 4 and 4 Extra audiences are met.

This particular Scheduling Co-ordinator role focuses on Transmission Scheduling and Delivery, providing crucial support to the network announcers and presenters. Within this area, Scheduling Co-ordinators are expected to work flexibly across Radio 3, Radio 4 and Radio 4 Extra as required.

You will ideally have:

• Demonstrable experience of transmission scheduling for radio or television production
• Good knowledge of the schedules of the relevant stations.
• An aptitude for use of relevant technical systems is required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, to be able to maintain effective relationships with people at all levels
• A proven commitment to achieving the highest standards
