Assistant Orchestra Manager

We are seeking an enthusiastic and flexible person with knowledge of Classical music to degree level or equivalent to join our busy Concerts department. This is a full time post, with some evening and weekend working. Reporting to the Orchestra Manager, the Assistant Orchestra Manager is responsible for booking extra players and deputies to play with the Hallé Orchestra, and for the administration of auditions of permanent and extra players. The post-holder will also deputise for the Orchestra Manager at concerts, recordings and rehearsals where appropriate. The post would be suitable for a person who is seeking to embark on or who is in the early stages of a career in arts administration.
The post is full-time permanent based on a 36.25-hour week. Our core office hours are 09.00-17:15, from Monday to Friday, however the AOM works flexible hours in line the Orchestra schedule. There may be option to work some hours from home.
