Assistant to the Deputy Director and Director of Development

This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain direct insights into senior management of Britain’s leading conservatoire. This position provides administrative support to the Deputy Director, who leads the College’s operations including its international work, and the Director of Development, who is responsible for the College’s fundraising strategy and development. It involves daily contact with students, eminent musicians, many of whom are professors, the College’s international partners, and Council members, who come from a wide range of backgrounds: the City, media, the House of Lords, and the professions. You will quickly become fully engaged with the strategic priorities of the College and you will also be expected to take responsibility for discrete projects, some events and other areas of work.
You will need excellent inter-personal, IT, communication and organisational skills, the ability to manage a varied workload and to work as a member of a team. Strong administrative experience, including of servicing committees, is also required. An interest in classical music and higher education is desirable.
The Secretariat is the administrative hub of the RCM and provides essential support to the College’s Directorate.
This is offered on a full-time, permanent basis and is available from April 2022.
