As Stephen Maddock OBE steps down after 23 years at the helm of the CBSO, the Board seeks to appoint a new Chief Executive to lead the organisation into the next chapter of its exciting journey. The Chief Executive provides strong and inspirational leadership to the CBSO, its musicians and staff, ensuring that the organisation meets its charitable and artistic objectives. We are looking for a dynamic and committed leader who is experienced in the performing arts, ideally music. The successful candidate will have experience of working with a wide range of stakeholders, including performers and administrative staff, and individual, corporate and public funders. They will have a track record of overseeing all aspects of an organisation’s operations, including the development of innovative and engaging artistic programmes and engaging new audiences.
