Commissioning Editor
Bachtrack Ltd £25,000 – 30,000 Closing date 20 August 2022
Bachtrack.com is one of the world’s largest classical music sites, listing thousands of events each year and publishing reviews and a wide range of articles. We have a rare opening for a Commissioning Editor to run the important section of the site devoted to articles.
You will be responsible for the commissioning and publication of articles (including interviews) and will create the plan for what articles we should write to attract new visitors to our site. You will liaise with the writer and (where applicable) any interviewee and/or sponsor to ensure on-time completion of the article to the desired quality. You will edit and publish the articles to conform with our editorial guidelines as well as writing a number of articles personally.
You have an in-depth knowledge of a number of forms of classical music, opera, ballet and dance with English as a first language (or a level indistinguishable from that). You have excellent editing skills and an eye for detail so you can edit accurately and quickly. You can organise your time effectively and meet deadlines and are happy to work entirely online, working with a number of applications including bespoke computer systems and processes.
You will be able to work remotely for the vast majority of your time but must be prepared to come into London for regular meetings.
Please look at our website for a complete job description.
