Association of British Orchestras

Communications Officer

Southbank Sinfonia at St John's Smith Square £24 000 Closing date 28 March 2022
Southbank Sinfonia at St John’s Smith Square is the exciting coming together of two much-loved and well-respected music organisations: the orchestra - Southbank Sinfonia, and the venue – St John’s Smith Square. Now one organisation, with a unified management structure, Southbank Sinfonia at St John’s Smith Square is a dynamic beacon for classical music.

The Communications department is responsible for developing the communications and marketing strategy for Southbank Sinfonia at St John’s Smith Square, with a ‘hands-on’ approach to make it a reality. The team produces detailed and bespoke campaigns for both the orchestra and venue (including our in-house café and bar) with an effort to create a coherent, overarching strategy for the organisation. Responsibilities are, but not limited to; digital and print marketing, audience development and PR, with support given to the Development and Operations departments when required.

This role is ideal for someone with a passion for creativity and music who could be seeking their first permanent role or looking to develop their marketing and communication skills. The individual will be prepared to think creatively, take risks and push the boundaries of how we talk about and present classical music in a post-pandemic world.

Application deadline is 9am, Monday 28th March. Interviews will take place Thursday 31st March and Friday 1st April.
