Concert and Orchestra Manager

The Academy has a busy and thriving orchestral life, providing comprehensive orchestral and ensemble training to its students. The Concerts Department is at the heart of performance activities at the Academy. It co-ordinates a busy schedule of around 120 orchestral/ensemble projects consisting of around 650 rehearsal or performance sessions both within the Academy and further afield, as well as collaborating with professional partners.
Working as part of the Concerts Department, you will have responsibility for project managing and putting into place all practical aspects of orchestral/ensemble rehearsals and performances within and outside the Academy as designated by the Senior Concert & Orchestra Manager. Educated with a degree in music, you will have previous experience of professional orchestral and concert management, including booking players and stage management. You will have experience in artist liaison of high profile musicians and have an established network of contacts within the orchestral sector. You will have a good working knowledge of OPAS, MU agreements and keeping within an established budget.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage a large and varied workload, to prioritise and work to deadlines along with the ability to problem solve are essential. You will also need to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the confidence to deal with challenging situations. Calm and unflappable, we require candidates with the ability to work under pressure whilst maintaining good attention to detail at all times.
