County Events & Courses Coordinator
Hertfordshire Music Service £21,269 Closing date 14 August 2022
For over 40 years Hertfordshire Music Service has delivered musical opportunities for young people through the county. The service is now one of the largest in the country, with over 15,000 young people involved in regular musical activities with 450 HMS teachers.
Hertfordshire Music Services (HMS) delivers instrumental teaching and music ensembles in both schools and a network of local music centres across the county. As young musicians progress in their learning, they are invited to audition for one of our county level ensembles.
This role holder will require a good understanding of orchestral and ensemble music to provide administration support, musical preparation and ‘hands on’ assistance at a thriving annual programme of activities for the county youth orchestras and ensembles. As some of the county activities courses run concurrently, the role will assist with managing courses in collaboration with the wider county activities team.
The role involves engaging with internal and external stakeholders and is delivered across a variety of venues drawing on a broad music knowledge (classical music in particular) and experience of ensemble practice) Some evening and weekend work will be required as well as ‘hands on’ approach to concerts and events, including heaving lifting and manual handling. Assisting the successful delivery of events in Hertfordshire, iconic national venues and international tours will also be included in the role. Activities are delivered across an annual programme of events during the school holidays as well as throughout term time
