Development Officer
Britten Pears Arts £27,000 Closing date 29 June 2022
Britten Pears Arts is a pioneering music, arts and heritage charity based on the Suffolk coast at two popular, historic visitor destinations: The Red House and Snape Maltings. Britten and Pears shared a progressive vision for music and the arts to be useful. Our founders’ vision inspires all our activities: from work with our local communities to our national leadership roles in the fields of talent development and music for health & wellbeing.
Income generated by the Development Team is essential to the continuation – and growth – of our activities. This newly created role will focus on delivering the highest possible standard of care to our corporate partners and some individual donors. It will also undertake research and report writing as well as being actively involved with the delivery of events for supporters, sponsors and partners.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual with relationship-building and/or fundraising and events experience to develop their skills within an experienced and supportive team. We also welcome applications from candidates with transferrable skills and experience, who may be looking to move into the arts/heritage sector.
We are looking for:
• Someone with excellent communication skills who enjoys building and developing relationships.
• Someone who can organise their own portfolio of supporters and events
• Clear and articulate written communication skills
• An interest in research and data analysis
• Someone who makes a positive contribution to the team and who is willing to support others.
• Is passionate about our work and is motivated by the challenge of fundraising for our wonderful charity.
Our benefits include:
• A 35-hour working week
• 35 days holiday per year
• Long service holiday
• Simplyhealth cash plan
• Company Sick Pay Scheme
• Life Assurance
• Staff Discount
• Auto-enrol pension scheme
• Cycle to Work scheme
For an informal conversation about the role, please get in touch with Sarah James, Head of Philanthropy.
