Digital Assistant (fixed term)

Halle Concerts Society £24,000 p.a. Closing date 26 November 2021
Full-time, 1-year fixed term
Interviews: W/C 6 December 2021

The last 18 months have shown us the need for a strong online presence and engaging and interesting content. A new Digital department has since been been formed within the Hallé. With a wealth of brand new audio-visual equipment at our disposal, we seek to establish a new approach to the Hallé’s online presence, pushing for exciting, creative and artistic work to reflect the principles of the Hallé and its supporters.

We’re looking to bring in a full-time Digital Assistant for a fixed term of one year. The role will assist in video creation, to create a consistent brand, including active promotion of the Hallé’s concerts and events (led by the Communications team) as well as showcasing the activities across the wider Hallé family. Additional to this role is one day a week spent aiding the digitisation of the Hallé archive – 163 years of Hallé History. This post offers an excellent opportunity to work as part of a team, build your video portfolio and flex your creativity as part of a historic arts institution.

This role will require professional handling of both video and audio. However, there is always room for training. Whether you have extensive experience in video with some knowledge of audio recording, or have recorded all kinds of music, but only have a few videos to your name, don’t hesitate to get in touch. As long as you’re creative and curious, we want to hear from you.

The role will initially be based remotely but, as public health regulations allow, will eventually operate from The Bridgewater Hall and Hallé St Peter’s in Manchester. In addition, the Society encourages and promotes agile, flexible and hybrid working practices wherever reasonable and practicable (for further details, please see our flexible and hybrid working policies). This role requires a degree of flexibility to working unusual hours to facilitate activities, and flexible working will be negotiable.

The Hallé takes equality, diversity and inclusion very seriously and welcomes applications from everyone. But simply having a diverse workforce is not enough. We want to build an inclusive environment, where everyone can develop to their full potential. We celebrate our differences, and recognise the importance of teams reflecting the activities and communities they serve.
