Finance Manager

The Academy of St Martin in the Fields seeks an enthusiastic and pro-active qualified accountant looking for an opportunity in arts management. This position will work closely with the Chief Executive and Finance Committee to assist with all finance related matters.

Key responsibilities:
 Manage the day to day financial activities of the Academy of St Martin in the Fields.
 Prepare annual budget and monitor variances and report to Finance Committee on monthly basis.
 Prepare and produce monthly management accounts and cash-flow forecasts.
 Act as the central point of contact for Finance Committee.
 Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
 Ensure all income received is correctly identified, coded and reported.
 Prepare and distribute invoices.
 Manage the coding and payment of supplier invoices.
 Prepare and execute payment runs and distribute remittance advice forms.
 Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
 Work with the Orchestral Personnel Manager, Director of Concerts and Learning & Participation to process monthly musician pays including managing the international withholding tax process.
 Act as a point of contact for musician pay enquiries.
 Process monthly salaries including PAYE and NIC payments and pension plan.
 Manage petty cash and banking.
 Process expense claims.
 Work with the Director of Concerts to prepare financial reconciliations for all concerts and tours.
 Assist the Development Manager to monitor and reconcile all development income.
 Maintain accurate records for external audits.
 Act as the main point of contact between the office, Chair of the Finance Committee and an external auditor.
