Camerata Ireland, the all-Ireland chamber orchestra, was founded by Barry Douglas in 1999. As the island’s foremost chamber orchestra with a superlative reputation and exciting record of international touring, we work with the finest musicians worldwide. Our recent footprint extends across the island of Ireland, India, China, USA, South America, Spain, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Poland and France. We excel at live performances, national and international touring and development of talent and we are proud to support and inspire future generations of orchestral musicians through a range of educational and mentoring initiatives.

We are seeking a General Manager to implement the next phase of the orchestra’s development. This offers a unique opportunity to help lead an established, vibrant orchestra delivering a varied artistic programme and a cultural vision. The role will suit an experienced and committed professional who will thrive in a fast-paced, demanding and never-complacent environment.

Working closely with the Artistic Director Barry Douglas and the Board the General Manager will have overall administrative and budgetary responsibility. You will ensure continued development and that all aspects of orchestral and organisational administration are efficiently managed.

Success in this role will be measured by the orchestra’s continued reputational growth; further enhancement of our profile; funding provision; development of efficient organisation-wide processes and the smooth management of our varied programme. As a key contributor to the vision and strategy of the organisation, you will work collaboratively with all relevant stakeholders. Flexibility is key with a willingness to be personally involved and committed to all aspects of our work.

The role is offered on a full time permanent basis and salary will be commensurate with experience. Whilst working arrangements are flexible, the post-holder will be required to work occasionally from the orchestra’s current base at Clandeboye Estate, Co. Down.
