Instrumental Tutor

Chetham’s School of Music is seeking a Harp Tutor with proven performance and pedagogical experience at the highest of standards. You will be working in the UK’s largest specialist music school and will be committed to the education and development of exceptionally talented young people.
Primarily focussing on 1-2-1 tuition of 1st study and subsidiary study students (aged 8-18), the ideal candidate will have a significant depth of experience in developing students’ holistic musical education throughout their student years.
This position will suit candidates whose strength lies within the classical repertoire, but who have considerable experience and interest in broader genres. The ability to support learning and classes in improvisation, folk, jazz or other areas would be welcomed. Chetham’s believes in creating robust, rounded and relevant musicians of the future. We value tutors who share our aim to support students in achieving musical and personal breadth in tandem with technical proficiency.
Initially anticipated hours: c. 5 hours per week (term time only, 28-30 weeks per annum).
Candidates will need to be flexible with regards to average working hours. Hours are allocated annually based upon student intake and therefore subject to annual variance.
Salary - Hourly rate dependent on experience.
You will be entitled to the provision of lunches during term time.
