Learning & Engagement Project Coordinator (maternity cover)

Glyndebourne up to £22,440 Closing date 22 August 2021
Additionally artists are supported to develop their ideas for new work. The programme focuses on communities close to Glyndebourne and in our Residency areas; Canterbury, Milton Keynes, Norwich and Liverpool. The post-holder will also be closely involved in the day to day running of the department’s programme of work and its busy office (real or virtual).

The L&E Project Coordinator will work closely with all members of the L&E team and staff in other departments of the Company. Other key contacts include members of Glyndebourne performing companies and freelance artists, learning providers, partner organisations, community groups, members of the general public and some funding bodies.

The L&E Project Coordinator will be provided with support from the L&E Office Coordinator.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Working with the L&E Project Managers to develop existing, and new projects which make imaginative use of the organisation’s resources and are in line with Glyndebourne’s artistic and strategic objectives
Contributing to identifying appropriate artistic teams for projects and supervising their work
Supporting the identification and recruitment of participant groups and working in collaboration with partner groups
Supporting the scheduling of projects and organising the relevant staffing and resources
Collaborating with Glyndebourne Technical departments to ensure effective planning of technical support for L&E projects
Supporting project managers to ensure effective planning for Health & Safety for all projects and events, including undertaking risk assessments where required
Attending all project activity within the portfolio as planned with the L&E Project Managers.
Supporting the effective monitoring, evaluation and documentation of projects, including regular input and analysis of participation data
Daily use of the L&E database in Tessitura, with support from the L&E Office Coordinator, with a particular focus on GDPR compliance

FINANCE & CONTRACTING

Monitoring project budgets as directed, ensuring strict financial control
Ensuring that all projects within the portfolio reflect the company’s Safeguarding, Equal Opportunities and Data Protection policies

COMMUNICATIONS

Supporting the effective promotion and communication of project activity through external and internal communication channels including managing Wordfly email campaigns, and regular communications with participants.
Copywriting and proofreading of L&E communications
Contributing to ensuring the organisation’s website is regularly updated with content
Contributing to the maintenance of the organisation’s database systems including Tessitura
Promoting the work of the department to artists, peer organisations, funders and opinion formers
Where appropriate, representing Glyndebourne in respect of its L&E programmes and initiatives

OTHER DUTIES

The post-holder will play an active role in other aspects of the department’s work and undertake other duties as required, including:

Collaborating in the general administration and management of the department in all aspects of its work, and in the efficient running of the office
Contributing to the strategic and artistic development of the department
Managing and maintaining relationships with partnership organisations
Any ad-hoc tasks reasonably requested by management

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

ESSENTIAL

Awareness of and passion for arts education work across music, theatre and opera, and a commitment to enhancing its accessibility to a wide range of groups
Demonstrably excellent administrative and organisational skills
Proactive with a track record of real time problem-solving
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an enthusiasm for communicating with a range of different groups
Awareness of current issues within the context of arts education
Understanding of the Arts Award programme
Ability to represent Glyndebourne in formal and informal situations
Team player with some experience of coordinating teams of people
Ability to deal with a diverse workload, work under pressure and manage multiple priorities, both short and long-term
Availability to work during evenings and at weekends and to travel with the Glyndebourne Tour as required
Digitally literate with good knowledge of social media and digital learning
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle

Glyndebourne is situated in Lewes, East Sussex. We believe that the Glyndebourne site and what we do here is central to our culture. However, we take a flexible approach to including an element of working from home. More details can be discussed at interview.
