Logistics Officer

Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra £23,000-£26,000 according to experience Closing date 30 September 2021
The Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the UK’s leading orchestras, seeks a highly-motivated Logistics Officer to take care of all logistical arrangements for the Orchestra’s concerts, rehearsals and special events, as well as for the annual Oxford Piano Festival and Summer Academy.

The role will be based in our North West London office.

Principal responsibilities:
• Liaising with concert/rehearsal venues about timings, stage set-up, back-stage requirements and parking
• Organising instrument hire including pianos, harpsichords and chamber organs
• Organising everything required to take to each concert
• Organising additional transport e.g. coaches, flights as required
• Liaising with artist managers, dealing with soloist requirements and organising riders where applicable
• Creating schedules and check-lists for each concert/rehearsal date and ensuring that the relevant people receive them
• Liaising with OPO’s stage manager and van driver regarding all concert/rehearsal dates
• Liaising with Oxfordshire schools and hospitals to help coordinate the Orchestra’s education and community projects
• Managing the Venues and Events sections of the office database to ensure that all logistics information is up to date
• Occasional front of house duties
• Taking care of logistical arrangements for the Oxford Piano Festival: liaising with visiting artists and concert venues

Essential abilities/qualifications:
• A good knowledge of and active interest in classical music, preferably with a music degree
• Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
• Good communication skills and able to demonstrate that you are a good and willing team player, with the necessary interpersonal skills to liaise with agents and visiting artists
• Good IT skills and experience using Microsoft Office software

Preferred abilities/qualifications:
• Experience of working in music administration
• Experience of working using databases
