LSO On Track Projects Coordinator (12-month fixed term contract)
London Symphony Orchestra £22,500-£23,000 per annum, according to experience Closing date 14 July 2021
The LSO is seeking a passionate and highly organised individual to join the LSO Discovery team, supporting LSO On Track, the LSO’s partnership programme with Music Education Hubs in East London. The programme includes:
• LSO East London Academy: high-level coaching programme for young musicians from east London, aiming to accelerate instrumental learning, confidence and aspirations. Recruitment particularly encourages young musicians from under-represented backgrounds in professional orchestras, including those from Black, Asian and ethnically diverse backgrounds and those that experience barriers to high-level opportunities.
• Mixed Ability performances: short-term coaching for young instrumentalists from beginners to advanced on specially commissioned or arranged written music, leading to a high-profile performance alongside a substantial LSO ensemble
• Next Generation and Activate: creative workshops for teenage instrumentalists leading to high-profile performances alongside LSO musicians.
• Bespoke projects: co-created and delivered projects with one or a combination of music service partners, designed specifically to address an identified need
• Musical Inclusion – creative projects with special schools; out-of-school provision and signposting; inclusive ensembles.
• Music in the Classroom (music CPD for teachers): creative projects in schools alongside training and development workshops for classroom teachers.
This is a fixed-term full-time role for 12 months with the potential to extend.
Deadline for receipt of applications is midday on Wednesday 14 July 2021. Interviews to take place on Tuesday 20 July 2021 via Zoom.
