Academy of St Martin in the Fields Hourly rate commensurate with experience Closing date 15 January 2020
Brief description:
The Academy of St Martin in the Fields seeks an experienced music librarian to provided printed music and information regarding repertoire for the Academy of St Martin in the Fields. This is a casual position as per the orchestra’s schedule.

Key Accountabilities:
• Prepare all sets of performance material, to include editing, bowing, photocopying, and hand-copying as required.
• The ordering of music and materials from publishers/ancillary outside services and ensuring the prompt return of material when appropriate.
• Working with the leader, conductors, soloists, composers, arrangers and members of the concerts team.
• Attend rehearsals as and when required.
• Providing accurate orchestrations as required.
• Provide scores as required for the Music Director, leader and orchestral musicians engaged by the Academy.
• Manage the day-to-day running, maintenance and upkeep of the music library and its resources.

Knowledge/Skills and Experience:
• A Music Degree and experience on an orchestral instrument preferably at conservatoire level.
• Must be conversant with all clefs/transpositions etc. used in orchestral music.
• Must have a meticulous approach to detail.
• Should have a good knowledge of orchestral repertoire
• Must have a working knowledge of orchestration and harmony
• IT competent with experience of MS Word, Outlook and Excel.
• A confident, helpful and flexible manner and the ability to deal with a range of international artists.
