Open Academy Assistant (Internship)
Royal Academy of Music £11.05 per hour (London Living Wage) Closing date 27 June 2022
Are you looking to gain valuable experience in arts administration and learning and participation project management within a music or higher education environment?
The Royal Academy of Music, the UK’s senior music conservatoire, has a vacancy for an Open Academy intern in our acclaimed Learning and Participation programme, with effect from September 2022.
Open Academy works strategically with partners including music hubs, community settings and other arts organisations to deliver a range of creative projects that connect Academy students with the world around them.
You will work closely with Open Academy staff, assisting with the co-ordination of setup for classes and projects and supporting the smooth delivery of departmental activities. You will also deal with enquiries from staff, students and the general public and provide general administrative support.
This position is ideal for someone looking for their first role. You will have a good academic track-record, good general IT skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, a friendly nature, and an enthusiasm to contribute to our busy team. You will also ideally have musical knowledge and a particular interest in community and participation activities. This is a professional development role, and you will have the chance to attend the Academy’s free public concerts and events.
Further details and the application form can be found on our website
Completed applications must be received by 12 noon on Monday 27 June 2022.
Interviews are expected to be held at the Academy on Wednesday 13 July 2022.
The Academy is committed to safeguarding and applicants must undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
The Academy values diversity and welcomes your application.
We particularly welcome applications from black, Asian and minority ethnic candidates, LGBTQ+ candidates and candidates with disabilities because we would like to increase the representation of these groups in these roles. We want to do this because we know greater diversity will lead to greater results for students.
