We are seeking to appoint an experienced Payroll & Pensions Operations Manager who will be responsible for ensuring the overall accuracy and quality of the monthly payroll and pensions submissions. The payroll team sits within the wider HR department and you will be expected to work closely with colleagues in both HR and Finance and to build strong working relationships with other key stakeholders across the organisation. As Payroll & Pensions Operations Manager you will answer routine queries from staff and students about their pay and pensions as well as liaise with USS, TPS and NEST to resolve more complex pensions issues so excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex information in an accessible manner is essential.

It is important that the Payroll & Pensions Operations Manager maintains up to date knowledge of developments within payroll and pensions and proactively seeks to improve processes and procedures.

Applicants must have appropriate experience of a payroll management role, knowledge and experience of workplace pension schemes and up to date knowledge of VAT and PAYE. It is important that applicants are able to confidently manage conflicting priorities to meet deadlines and have experience setting overall team objectives and targets.

Knowledge of the iTrent HR/Payroll system would be advantageous as would previous experience of the USS and TPS pension schemes.
