The RCM is looking to appoint a Performance & Programming Assistant to work across its Performance & Programming (P&P) department, which is at the centre of College life facilitating many of the rehearsals and concerts that take place within the College and at external venues. The team is based in the Exchange, the student facing administrative hub of the RCM.

The successful applicant will be joining a dedicated department in an exciting working environment and will work closely with other staff, students, professors and visiting artists. The postholder will support the work of the Concert and Venue Manager & Orchestra Manager, including administrating the Leave of Absence process and will assist in setting up rehearsals both onsite and offsite.

The successful candidate will have the ability to give timely and effective organisational support, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and previous working knowledge of classical music and associated performance requirements. Previous experience of stage management and of working in an academic environment is desirable. The role requires an ability to work proactively, flexibly and creatively on a variety of tasks and will include some evening and occasional weekend work as required.

This post is offered on a part time (0.6FTE) basis on a fixed term contract until 30 November and is available from 15 August.
