This post is primarily based in the Britten Theatre; one of London’s best-loved opera stages – with an orchestra pit and elegant tiered auditorium, it not only hosts our regular opera productions but also a variety of instrumental and ensemble performances. We are regularly joined by acclaimed directors, designers and choreographers, providing a professional experience within a supportive environment. We have recently staged Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, directed by Stephen Barlow; Jonathan Dove’s Flight, directed by Jeremy Sams; and Orpheus in the Underworld by Offenbach, directed by Louise Bakker. We also present other special projects including biennial fully staged productions of mini-operas written by RCM student composers.
