Programme Manager - BPYAP
Britten Pears Arts c30K Closing date 31 May 2023
Britten Pears Arts is a pioneering cultural charity based in Suffolk. It emerged from the determination of composer Benjamin Britten and his partner, singer Peter Pears, to ensure that everyone could enjoy and experience music. Britten Pears Arts aims to continue their legacy to develop talent, celebrate their heritage and engage with communities. As Britten himself would have put it, making the arts “useful.”
Our Artist Development team and opera programme is at the core of our work with young and emerging artists, as well as those with established careers. The Britten Pears Young Artist Programme (BPYAP), offers high-level performance training to early-career professional musicians, delivered by the world’s finest performers, teachers and creatives. The programme is selective and, each year around 70 young artists attend a series of masterclasses and coaching opportunities, encouraging them to explore vocal repertoire, chamber repertoire and develop contemporary composition.
This is a fantastic role for an experienced arts administrator who is excited by a career in classical and contemporary music and who is seeking to develop their skills and knowledge within a broad role. Responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the programme, including recruitment and evaluation, the role will also help to shape the programme’s strategic direction and work with other teams to promote the programme across a variety of platforms, to the public as well as to potentially funders.
Strong administration and communication skills are essential, along with the willingness to learn and make a positive contribution to Britten Pears Arts.
We are an equal opportunities employer and believe that diversity strengthens and enriches us. We positively encourage applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates of all ages and from all backgrounds, in particular from minority ethnic backgrounds and disabled candidates who are currently under-represented at Britten Pears Arts.
To apply please send a covering letter and application form to Helen Fletcher, HR Director hfletcher@brittenpearsarts.org
Closing date for completed applications – 0930hrs Wednesday 31st May 2023
