Project Sales Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a new role in our busy Tours & Projects department, working as a part of a team that delivers tours for a wide variety of orchestras, ensembles and dance companies, as well as producing artist-led projects. The Project & Tours Sales Manager will be responsible for selling and negotiating tours and special projects, working closely with the department’s Project Managers.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
• Working with the Director of Tours, Associate Director, Senior and Project Managers, you will be tasked with selling specific tours and projects in targeted territories to help create successful engagements and tours for our Touring Partners;
• Generating new touring business opportunities and converting leads into confirmed dates;
• Developing and retaining trusted long-term relationships with presenters, including venues, festivals and promoters across the globe;
• Managing efficiently a high volume of workload and multiple projects simultaneously;
• Maintaining detailed logs of all sales progress through the internal database (Overture)
• Communicating complete, accurate, and timely updates to the relevant Project Manager
• Having the ability and knowledge to adapt the sales strategy and touring plans as the booking process evolves.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR FROM YOU
• A broad spectrum of knowledge and appreciation for the performing arts and classical music;
• Strong, relevant experience and proven drive in selling and setting up projects, preferably with orchestras, dance companies, venues or festivals, or in a related business;
• The ability to engage in conversation and relay interest, passion, and excitement when securing engagements for our Touring Partners;
• An instinctive networker and a strong negotiator with the ability to connect with programmers and artistic administrators across the field;
• The ability to demonstrate poise, tact, diplomacy, listening skills, and persuasiveness;
• The ability to integrate quickly and smoothly into a team and to be a motivated, effective team-player;
• The ability to be pro-active, well-organised and able to meet deadlines;
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
DESIRABLE COMPETENCIES
• A strong network of international contacts in the classical music world, including venues, festivals and promoters.
• Experience with projects that involve production, technical or staged elements in any form;
• Foreign language skills are an advantage.
