LSO Technicians take a central role in the LSO operations team, supporting the Technical Manager and working closely with the Stage, Events and Facilities teams. Drawing on all-round technical experience and skills, the Technicians set-up, operate and maintain a range of technical production equipment as well as contribute to event planning and management of logistics. As part of the operations team, Technicians work in the Jerwood Hall, St Luke’s, the Barbican and beyond, delivering all projects to the highest professional standard. This includes, but is not limited to: Concerts, both classical and contemporary, rehearsals, streaming, filmed and broadcasting events, recording sessions, conferences, lectures, hospitality events, education workshops and outreach projects.
Alongside events, the Technicians support the Technical Manager with equipment and systems installation, preventative maintenance, strategic planning, creating and reviewing systems of work, and upholding safe operating procedures.
This role requires frequent interaction with high profile clients and artists, participants, visitors and contractors. The Technician is one of the team to act as Duty Fire Officer on events, working with the Duty Manager to ensure the safety of all occupants of the building.
The Technician will be a self-motivated and proactive problem solver, able to work on their own initiative, take on responsibility and to fit into a small team working to a consistently high standard.
Salary: £27,500 - £32,500 per annum, according to experience + benefits.
