Ticketing and Events Officer

The Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the UK’s leading orchestras, seeks a highly-motivated Ticketing and Events Officer, to play a key role in our activities.
The chosen candidate will assist and work under instruction from the Chief Operating Officer and other Directors.
We are looking for a highly-organised, conscientious and friendly person who is willing to work on their own initiative and as part of a small team. The main responsibility is to run the Orchestra’s Box Office for an average of 30 Oxford concerts during our concert season, as well as the annual Piano Festival.
The orchestra also puts on a number of high-profile events each year, and the successful candidate will be responsible for handling invitations, processing RSVPs, creating guest lists, putting together seating plans and organizing logistics for such events.
The orchestra organises a week-long residential Piano Festival in Oxford every summer. The successful candidate will co-ordinate the Festival and liaise with all those attending.
The position is currently remote and flexible, but will be based in our London office once reopened full time. Occasional travel to Oxford will be required. Some evening and weekend work will be necessary for concerts and fundraising events.
Principal responsibilities:
• Run the orchestra’s Box Office (currently using Ticketsolve but soon moving to Spektrix), set up events and sell tickets
• Responsible for the running of the box office on-site at Oxford concert venues, co-ordinating a small team of front of house staff and dealing with any customer enquiries/issues on the day
• Work with the COO to arrange ticket allocations for sponsors and guests
• Responding to queries from Oxford Piano Festival applicants and processing their applications
• Arranging the timetable for the Festival’s masterclasses; liaising with St Hilda’s College concerning accommodation for resident observers and participants
• Handling invitations and processing RSVPs for fundraising events
• Liaising with fundraising event venues and suppliers, bringing the whole event together
• General administrative duties
Essential abilities/qualifications:
• Education to degree level
• Passion for classical music, particularly orchestral music
• Excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Good IT skills
• Ability to juggle multiple tasks
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent telephone manner
• Motivated team-player
Desirable abilities/qualifications:
• 2+ years Box Office experience but candidates with no ticketing experience may also apply
• Degree in music
