Video Production Lead for Handel for All

We are pleased that you are considering joining The English Concert as our new Video Production Lead for
Handel for All. This important role combines music and visual storytelling, giving you the chance to shape the digital presence of one of the world’s leading period instrument orchestras.

Handel for All is the biggest digital project in our history, blending musical excellence with creative outreach. In this role, you will work closely with our artistic and administrative teams. You will manage every stage of the video production process, from planning and filming performances to editing and delivering content, working with both internal staff and external collaborators to achieve excellent results.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead all planning and filming for Handel for All and related projects. Set up, operate and troubleshoot
cameras, audio and lighting equipment to professional standards.
• Manage and coordinate freelance staff, including camera operators, editors and colourists, briefing and
scheduling their work.
• Edit, colour grade and deliver finished video content for online platforms.
• Oversee post-production workflow, including logging, archiving and managing digital assets according to best
practice.
• Support and advise on recordings with the broader team to ensure smooth delivery.
• Maintain and recommend upgrades to in-house AV equipment, keeping it secure and functional.
• Work with marketing and artistic teams to create short promotional and social media videos.
• Provide technical induction and basic support to staff and artists when needed.
• Ensure all recorded content complies with rights and permissions policies.
• Troubleshoot problems creatively and calmly in a fast-moving environment.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential
• Proven experience leading video projects from start to finish, ideally in arts, music or cultural settings.
• Skilled in multi-camera filming live events and working with professional audio.
• Proficient in video editing and colour grading software (TEC uses DaVinci Resolve Studio)
• Experience managing and briefing external freelancers, and reviewing their work.
• Strong knowledge of digital asset management and archiving.
• Good communication and organisation skills, able to remain calm and focused under pressure.
• Flexible approach, willing to work evenings and weekends when needed.

Desirable
• Familiarity with classical music or ability to follow a music score.
• Experience producing streamed or hybrid events.
• Understanding of music rights and permissions for digital use.
• Confidence with sound recording equipment and integrating audio with video.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in video or media production

WORKING HOURS
Basic hours are 9.30am to 5.30pm.
The role is part-time with 1.5 days per week, but the hours can be combined or adjusted across
different weeks to accommodate quieter periods or other work commitments. Some weekend and evening work will be required.
