Vocal Tutor

Chetham’s School of Music is seeking a specialist vocal tutor with a broad range of teaching experience at the highest of standards. Working as a part of our highly regarded vocal teaching team within the UK’s largest specialist music school, candidates will be committed to the education and development of exceptionally talented young people aged 8 to 18.
Based in the heart of Manchester, Chetham’s is home to the UK's leading music school; the oldest public library in the English-speaking world; and The Stoller Hall. Chetham’s is a magical and vibrant place in which to work and will be of particular interest to candidates who have an empathy and passion for the arts.
The job
- Initially anticipated hours; c.5hrs per week (term time only, 28-30 weeks per annum).
- This role will initially be undertaken on a 1yr fixed term contract, but with the potential for hours to increase and contract extension thereafter.
- A high-level of pedagogical experience is essential, coupled with extensive experience of teaching all voice types (including coaching students going through ‘vocal change’). Stage and performance experience within the operatic repertoire and solo concert/recital repertoire is also desirable.
