The Youth Orchestra and Youth Choir Administrator (maternity cover) reports to the Head of Ensembles of the Hallé Concerts Society. The Ensembles Team sits within the HALLÉ CONNECT umbrella and encompasses all of the Hallé’s work away from the formal concert platform. The Youth Orchestra and Youth Choir Administrator will work under the direction of the Head of Ensembles and in collaboration with the Ensembles artistic and administrative teams to support the work of the Hallé Ensembles, in particular the Youth Choir and Youth Orchestra.
Key tasks:
• Day-to-day administrative tasks relating to all Hallé Ensembles, and in particular the Youth Choir and Youth Orchestra
• Pastoral care responsibility whilst on call
• Planning and facilitating rehearsals, auditions, projects, performances and tours in liaison with the Head of Ensembles and artistic team, including library and stage management requirements as necessary
• Being the first point of Hallé contact for people of all ages
• Responsibility for work experience placements within the Ensembles department
• Overseeing the annual Youth Ensembles recruitment process
• Overseeing the planning and delivery of Youth Ensembles tours in 2022 and 2023
• Overseeing Youth Ensembles payment processes including the administration of Youth Bursaries, in liaison with the Bursary Awards Panel
• Liaison with and animation of volunteer help for activities
• Maintaining registered chaperone and DBS databases of staff and volunteers for Safeguarding purposes
• Producing statistics on project activity for reports
• Photographing and filming of project activity for reports and social media
• Liaison with all Hallé Departments on behalf of Hallé Connect
• Reporting to the Hallé Committees and the Board on Hallé Connect activities when required
• Support for Hallé Connect activities as appropriate
