The unsung heroes of the classical music industry are honoured at the ABO Awards

As the Association of British Orchestra Conference comes to a close today (12 March), the industry body has announced the recipient of its annual ABO Award and the winners of the 2021 ABO/Classical Music Awards, celebrating the achievements of colleagues across the sector during what has been an incredibly challenging year.

AFTERSHOCK: 2021 ABO Conference

The annual Association of British Orchestras Conference, the UK’s leading classical music forum, will take place online from Wednesday 10 March – Friday 12 March 2021. The ABO has published a briefing outlining the key issues affecting the UK’s orchestral sector following publication of the EU-UK Trade Cooperation Agreement.

ABO announces Simon Webb as new Chair

Director of the BBC Philharmonic, Simon Webb, has been elected as the new Chair of the Association of British Orchestras (ABO). He succeeds Gavin Reid, Chief Executive of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra.

Nominations open for 2021 ABO/Classical Music Awards

Nominations for the annual ABO/Classical Music industry awards are now open until Friday 22 January 2021, inviting managers in the orchestral sector to celebrate the achievements of colleagues across orchestras, concert halls and artist management during what has been a challenging year for the UK’s orchestras and their musicians.
