PRS Foundation’s Resonate re-opens for applications

PRS Foundation announces today the re-opening of its Resonate initiative, which encourages professional orchestras to programme into their repertoire the best pieces of UK orchestral music from the past 25 years. Resonate is a partnership between PRS Foundation, the Association of British Orchestras (ABO) and broadcast partner BBC Radio 3.

Mark Pemberton OBE to Step Down as Chief Executive of ABO

Today (31 May 2022), Mark Pemberton OBE, Chief Executive of the Association of British Orchestras (ABO) has announced that he will be stepping down from his role at the end of September 2022.

Kanneh-Mason Family Honoured at the Association of British Orchestras Awards 2022

As the Association of British Orchestras Conference ends today (Friday 11 February 2022), the industry body has announced the Kanneh-Mason Family as the recipient of its prestigious annual ABO Award. The award was collected by parents Kaduata Kanneh and Stuart Mason, on behalf of the entire family for their commitment and inspiration given to other aspiring young musicians and fellow parents.

ABO Chief Executive Awarded OBE in New Year’s Honours

Today (1 January 2022), Mark Pemberton, Chief Executive of the Association of British Orchestras (ABO) has been awarded The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the New Year’s Honours list.

Lisa Tregale elected to Board of ABO

‘Rebound’ – Association of British Orchestras Announces Conference 9 – 11 February 2022

Announced today (Tuesday 30 November 2021), the annual Association of British Orchestras (ABO) Conference, the UK’s leading classical music forum, will take place in-person and online from Wednesday 09 February – Friday 11 February 2022 in Glasgow hosted by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.

Nominations open for 2022 ABO/Classical Music Awards

Nominations for the annual ABO/Classical Music industry awards are now open until 5pm on Friday 10 December 2021, inviting managers in the orchestral sector to celebrate the achievements of colleagues across orchestras, concert halls and artist management during what has been a challenging year for the UK’s orchestras and their musicians.
