Finance Manager

Birmingham Contemporary Music Group (BCMG) is a leading contemporary music ensemble and registered charity. We commission and perform new music, deliver learning and community programmes, and tour nationally and internationally. BCMG is an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation and operates from the CBSO Centre in central Birmingham.
The Finance Manager is responsible for the reliable day-to-day operation of BCMG’s finance function. The postholder will own bookkeeping, payroll, month-end processes, reconciliations, budget monitoring and the preparation of draft management information, working with the Head of Finance who provides strategic oversight, final review of quarterly Board reporting and leadership of the statutory accounts and audit.
This is a hands-on role requiring an experienced finance professional who can work independently, maintain strong controls and provide useful support to colleagues and budget holders within a small arts charity.
Reports to: Head of Finance, with day-to-day working and prioritisation agreed with the Executive Director
Line management: None
Hours: 14–21 hours per week (0.4–0.6 FTE), normally worked across two/three days, including regular overlap with the Head of Finance
Salary: £27,800–£32,000 FTE, depending on experience (£11,120–£12,800 pro rata for 14 hours per week; £16,680–£19,200 pro rata for 21 hours per week)
Contract: Permanent, subject to a six-month probationary period
Location: Birmingham/hybrid working, with regular attendance at CBSO Centre
