WeCompose Project Coordinator
Music in the Round £24,633 (pro rata) Closing date 31 July 2026
Music in the Round is seeking a WeCompose Project Coordinator to administer our transformative in-school composition project.
Since 2022, our WeCompose project has engaged thousands of young people in dozens of towns and cities. Working with professional composers and musicians alongside liaising with school staff and music hubs, this role is a key part of making this exciting project happen, inspiring young music-makers across the country.
This role would suit someone who has experience running complex in-school music education projects or similar and is passionate about delivering excellent projects for young people. It requires working with schools, teachers, volunteers, children and young people, so some knowledge of how schools operate within their academic timeframes and safeguarding requirements is needed. Attention to detail and first-class administration skills are needed to ensure correct information is distributed, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills and a proficiency with computers and data input.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and cheerful, able to work within a small team and to take responsibility for their own projects. This role requires working face-to-face and by phone and email with teachers, composers and professional musicians, so an open, collaborative approach to working is welcomed, especially someone who can be comfortable shifting rapidly and responsively between different groups with different needs. A person who is flexible and adaptable, with patience and a sense of humour, will fit in well to our small team and be made to feel very welcome.
